How to access your COVID-19 vaccination status

You can access your COVID-19 vaccination status through the free NHS App from 17 May. You can access the app through mobile devices such as a smartphone or by tablet. Proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will be shown within the NHS App. We recommend that you register with the app before booking international travel. Once you have registered for the app please email us on highfield.surgery@nhs.net and inform us so that we can ensure the settings on your record are correct and will enable the vaccination information to be shown.

If you do not have access to a smartphone and know that the country you are travelling to requires COVID-19 vaccination status, you can call the NHS helpline on 119 (from 17 May) and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 days after you’ve completed your course of the vaccine. We expect the letter to take up to 5 days to reach you.

  • Please do not contact your GP surgery about your COVID-19 vaccination status. GPs cannot provide letters showing your COVID-19 vaccination status.

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE COVID-19 VACCINATIONS FOR HIGHFIELD SURGERY PATIENTS

Highfield Surgery staff are pleased to announce that we will begin COVID-19 vaccinations for our patients this week from the Adams Park football stadium in High Wycombe, Hillbottom Road, HP12 4HJ.

Due to the complex nature of the storage and preparation of the vaccine we have been required by NHS England to work at designated registered sites in groups of practices which is why we are currently not allowed to operate from our own practice sites. We will be vaccinating weekly ongoing as long as is required to get the job done.

We have worked extremely hard to put a safe and effective service in place for our residents which will be run by our own nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, GPs and administrative staff from the practice alongside the other practices in our grouping. We are part of a network of practices called Arc Primary Care Network.

We will have fully equipped facilities with registered and qualified staff in place to ensure your safety. The practice and branch surgeries will operate normal service as usual.

We are totally committed to vaccinating all our patient group in line with national guidance on priorities and will start with the over 80s this week. Please do not contact the practice for an appointment, we will begin to send invitations for you to make both your initial and follow up appointment by phone (text or call) this week and ongoing over the next weeks until everyone has been invited. Please make an appointment when requested to allow us to get through our at-risk groups as quickly as possible and to avoid vaccine wastage.

Thank you for your patience as we start to roll out this massive operation and for your ongoing support of the practice. Further information will be given prior to your vaccination.

4th January 2021

The NHS is now ready to deliver a Covid vaccination programme so those who need it most will be able to access vaccinations as soon as they are available.

A prioritisation list has been produced in order for the vaccine to be delivered to the groups who will need it first. The NHS will contact you when you are eligible to receive the vaccine and provide you with information about the location and date. You will be contacted when it is the right time so please do not contact the NHS to seek a vaccine before then.

There is a local support group available to speak to if you have feelings of isolation and loneliness during the current difficult times - please visit their website for more details - https://wycombe-mutual-aid.org

11th March 2020 - For the forseeable future patients requesting an appointment will be phoned back by the duty doctor to discuss their treatment. We apologise for any inconvenience. If, during the telephone consultation, the GP considers a face to face appointment is necessary then one will be arranged. In these instances the patient only will be admitted to the surgery unless prior agreement is given by the GP first.
